City Crime and First Step to Stop It

Widgets are main traits of the mind and body.

As the Upper Nature evolved to greater conscious awareness, emotion, thinking, and action, so the Lower Nature grew to greater and greater deception, greed, blame, and aggression.

The characters in the story have pets that display their dominant trait, or widgets.

The kids parents also display the same dominant traits in the occupations and agencies they work for. Groups of people, or the city displays the same traits or widgets as individuals. A city then is like an individual and has a personality that can change depending on how progressive the traits, or agencies are. The guy in the middle is Cuz, a well known gang banger working for the Corporate Tycoon, Larry’s father. Larry is the tycoon’s kid, on the far right.

 

Cuz, like a lot of gang members, feel they are doing a civic service by rebelling against the law. But he has enough common sense to know fighting for fighting sake is not right. He starts to question his previous logic.

He realizes our consciousness should focus our behavior for optimum utility. That if our Upper Nature is scattered or non functional because of addiction, that our Lower Nature can take over and call the shots when perhaps it’s not as wise as the Upper Nature. He realizes that Larry’s love of fighting is not from wisdom but from the Lower Nature which is a primitive part of the brain and not very intelligent.

Cuz is questioning if his own rebellion is similar, and only adding to crime, and not to intelligent change.

Cuz begins to see where the Upper Nature of society builds it up and the Lower Nature may only tear it down.

Cuz can see that the Lower Nature can cause problems on the individual level unless Conscious choice stops the process.

Cuz then looks at the City as if it is a living individual with an Upper and Lower Nature that contend to control the city for its own goals. The city can build or tear itself down.

Then he looked at the interplay between the Lower Nature of the individual and of the Lower Nature of the City perpetuating addictions and crime in Human Trafficking. How Corporate Tycoons can use the Media and Addiction shops to sell their wears.

 

Then the big insight, Cuz realizes it is all about numbers, the number of people who want the city to build for all or only for a few at the expense of others.

Cuz decides fighting to stop the lies, greed, blame, and aggression, the Lower Nature of the City, by using his Lower Nature may not be the answer.

What are the tools to use the Upper Nature to change your city? Interest Groups to influence legislature, Initiatives and Referendums to change laws, Political Parties, Churches too, believe it or not churches play a large role. If Gang members were to use these tools to change their cities we would see a lot of change. They are a huge work force that too often kill each other rather than promote each other.
