TRUST
Trust is built on the ability to accurately predict how the other person see’s you, feels about you, thinks about you, and will act in the relationship. To be trustworthy we need to understand our own perceptions, emotions, thoughts, and actions. With introspection we can better predict ourselves and other can better predict us. In the following cartoons Edgar, Molly, Sue, and George operate more from their Upper Natures. They are more altruistic and trustworthy. They want to help their friends, Ragde, Charolette, Destony, and Larry who too often operate in their Lower Natures and can be less predictable.
Ragde relies on lies rather than reality. Our perceptions need to come from our Upper Nature that will check with the perceptions of people that have been more objective and informed with little bias. We need to research and talk to or read what they have to say about relationships and see how they enlighten us to do better in relationships. Lies tend to put self and others in a false world that is not reality. It can get really messy. Edgar has little ambition because his false world leads no where. This makes it hard to trust or be trustworthy as the world of lies seems more unpredictable.
Charolette is very self centered. This makes relationships hard for her as lies turn to frustration and anger creating bad drama. She too finds building relationships as too hard and a waste of time. Relationships take a lot of time, introspection to be able to understand self and others and how they very, are similar, and how to interact according to the similarities and differences. Without that we live in our own world of self centeredness and others do not understand it. Therefore the world and relationships seems to be unpredictable.
Destany loves Fantasy and it can be fun and entertaining but too often does not let us predict ourselves or others. Fantasy is the creation of one or a few others. It does not reflect reality in its complexity but reflects only the world of those who created it. In fantasies we can pretend it’s a real world but we can’t learn how to really understand another or ourselves to trust or be trustworthy in the real world. I can say what month you were born in but it will not tell me all your genetics, childhood, beliefs, and different environments and cultures that helped mold you.
Larry is an abused child. His rich father took custody through his money influence. Larry can trust his mother and little sister, who love him. But abuse can take away your incentives to do things. For some it increases their drive to achieve. But he feels trapped in his father’s world of money and power where his love of his mother and sister are not allowed and if he runs his father will make life hard on them all, this depresses him. George wants him to do more positive things anyway.
